The CJ1W-SCU32 is OMRON's Serial Communications Unit for the CJ-series CPU backplane: it adds two independent serial ports to the PLC - one RS-232C and one RS-422A/485 - so the controller can talk to inverters, temperature controllers, bar-code readers, inspection devices and any third-party equipment with a serial interface. With the protocol macro function, user-defined protocols run on both ports simultaneously; standard Host Link and no-protocol modes cover the everyday OMRON and point-to-point cases. The unit on our photos ships in its factory carton with manual.
