The BKM98 Light is the control unit of the BK Mikro tool monitoring system (Schubert System Elektronik GmbH). Paired with a TK98A / TK91 scanner and its deflection wand, the unit evaluates the scanner signal during every tool change and cutting cycle: it learns up to hundreds of taught positions, compares each cycle against the reference, and stops the machine the moment a tool breaks or deflects out of tolerance - before a crash ruins the spindle, the workpiece or the tool magazine. The Light variant is the compact housing version for direct cabinet mounting.
