Description

Bently 3500/65 145988-02 is a 16-channel temperature monitoring module that accepts both RTD and isolated thermocouple (TC) signals. Temperature range: –200 °C to +1370 °C, accuracy ±3 °C @25 °C. The module integrates alarm setpoints and TMR redundancy options, is configured through the 3500 configuration software, and serves as the "eyes" for monitoring the temperature of large machinery and turbomachinery bearing systems — stable and reliable from the moment it goes online.

Product Details

Installed in a 3500 series rack, this 3500/65 145988-02 module accepts up to 16 RTD/TC input signals. Each channel features software-configurable alarm thresholds (Alert/Danger) and supports TMR redundant configurations, eliminating single points of failure through three-way voting — a dependable choice for turbomachinery temperature control and bearing monitoring.

Power consumption is only 3 W, with resolution down to 1 °C/°F and an RTD current source of 913 µA; every channel is galvanically isolated. The module is equipped with LED indicators showing OK/TX/RX/Bypass status and meets high ISO/IEC and EMC standards with ATEX, CSA, IECEx and ABS Pacific-class certifications — built to survive the most demanding environments.

Key Features and Advantages

Multi-signal support: Mixed RTD and TC inputs for more flexible cabinet wiring.

TMR redundancy: Deploy three modules side by side for hard fault filtering with no backup blind spots.

Flexible alarming: Alarm thresholds and delays are software-configurable for a wide range of scenarios.

Full industrial certification: ATEX/CSA/ABS etc. for offshore and hazardous areas.

Low power, high isolation: 3 W power draw with multi-channel isolation against interference.

Instant LED status: Operation, communication and bypass states visible at a glance.

Application Areas

⚙ Temperature monitoring: precise measurement of machine bearings, combustion chambers and heat exchangers.

◉ Turbomachinery monitoring: condition detection for power generation, compressors and turbines.

◉ Petrochemical plants & heavy machinery: temperature tracking of high-temperature piping and process vessels.

⚓ Offshore platforms & marine: temperature anomaly detection inside explosion-proof rooms.

◉ Other hazardous areas: complete temperature safety detection for chemical, coal-chemical and gas stations.

Installation and Maintenance Recommendations

Modules must be aligned with adjacent modules in the 3500 rack, and the three TMR modules must be installed in consecutive slots. After power-up, use the 3500 Rack Configuration software to set input types and alarm thresholds. When site temperatures vary significantly, recalibrate the cold-junction compensation. For maintenance, power down before replacing modules to avoid bypassing and interrupting the entire link; back up the module configuration to prevent system reinstallation failure.
